How to participate, from first step to final rebate
Current program terms run through June 30, 2027. Getting up to $7,500 in incentives and 0% financing is simpler than most homeowners expect, because your contractor handles nearly all of it. Here is the entire journey.
Your project in nine steps
- Schedule your home energy audit. Everything starts with the audit. Book online in about two minutes. It costs $99 (a $299 value), and the fee is credited toward your project if you move forward.
- Audit day. A BPI certified Ciel Power auditor evaluates your home with diagnostic testing, including a blower door test, infrared imaging, and combustion safety checks. Plan on about three hours, and walk the home with your auditor to get answers in real time.
- Review your personalized report. Within days, you receive your report: where your home loses energy, which improvements will help most, your projected energy savings, your estimated rebate, and your financing options.
- Shape your proposal. Together with your energy advisor, you decide which improvements to include. You see the exact numbers, rebate, financing, and out of pocket, before you sign anything. No obligation, no pressure.
- We handle the paperwork. Program applications, financing enrollment, and any required permits are prepared and submitted by our team. You never fill out a rebate application.
- Your project is scheduled. We confirm your installation dates, assign your crew, and coordinate materials and logistics around your schedule.
- Installation. Our crews complete your upgrades, typically in one to three days for most projects, and document the work as they go.
- Test out and verification. When the work is done, we test your home again, including a follow up blower door test, to verify the improvement. You see the before and after numbers.
- Your incentives are processed. Your rebate is applied to your project, your 0% payments simply appear on your monthly utility bill if you chose financing, and you receive Pearl Certification documenting your upgrades for resale value.

How long does the energy audit take to complete?
A typical energy audit takes about three hours. During this time, our certified auditors assess key areas like insulation, air leakage, and heating and cooling systems to identify opportunities for improving comfort and reducing energy costs.
Can I participate if I live in a townhouse or multi family unit?
Yes. The program is available for owner occupied single family homes, townhouses, and residential buildings with up to four units.
What diagnostic tools are used during the energy audit?
The audit uses blower doors and infrared cameras to pinpoint air leaks, insulation gaps, and inefficiencies. Auditors also use combustion analyzers to confirm your heating systems are operating safely, and gas leak detectors to identify potential safety hazards. Together these provide a comprehensive picture of your home's energy use and safety.
Can I choose which upgrades to implement?
Yes. Beyond the required air sealing and insulation work identified by the assessment, you can tailor the improvements to fit your needs, budget, and priorities, whether that is insulation, heating and cooling, or an energy efficient water heater.
How do I receive the rebates and financing incentives?
Both the rebate and the zero interest financing are applied directly to your project invoice, significantly reducing out of pocket expenses. You only ever pay the net amount.
Who handles the paperwork for the incentives?
The Ciel Power team takes care of all the paperwork and processing for you. From submitting applications to handling program requirements, we ensure everything is completed accurately and efficiently.
Is there a deadline to participate?
Yes. Current program terms run through June 30, 2027. Funding and guidelines can change, so homeowners are encouraged to complete projects under the current terms.
Are there any follow up inspections after the upgrades are installed?
Yes. A required test out verifies that all upgrades are correctly installed and achieve the intended improvement. Your project may also be randomly selected for an additional inspection by the program to confirm quality and adherence to program requirements.
Can I participate if my home has previously received energy efficiency upgrades?
Yes, if your home qualifies for additional improvements. Even if your home has previously received incentives, you may be eligible for new upgrades that align with the program's guidelines.
How long does it take to receive the rebate after installation?
Most clients apply the rebate directly to their invoice at the point of sale, minimizing upfront costs. For those who opt to receive the rebate separately, it is typically processed within a few weeks after the installation has been verified.
How long does the whole process take?
Most projects go from audit to completed installation in four to eight weeks, depending on scope, permits, and scheduling. Your advisor gives you a realistic timeline up front.
What happens if my home doesn't reach 5% projected savings?
It is uncommon for homes with identified issues, but if it happens, your advisor will tell you plainly and help you weigh whether any improvements still make sense at full cost. We will never recommend a project that does not serve you.
