No, the program does not consider income for the purpose of participation.
Is creditworthiness considered for incentive financing?
Yes, participants utilizing incentive financing must meet program credit requirements.
Do I have to install all of the recommended upgrades in my home?
No, pick and choose exactly which upgrades to make to your home.*
Choose from upgrades to your home's insulation, heating, air-conditioning, and hot water systems to save up to thirty percent on your energy bills.
*All projects must include at least attic air sealing and an attic insulation upgrade if required.
Can my contractor install the upgrades?
To qualify for cash incentives and financing options offered through the Program, all materials and equipment must be purchased new and the energy efficiency improvements must be contracted with a Building Performance Institute Accredited Contractor participating in the 2024 New Jersey Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program.
Can Ciel install my upgrades?
Yes, Ciel is a Building Performance Institute (BPI) Accredited Contractor and a Licenced New Jersey Home Improvement Contractor. We can install the recommended upgrades in your home, but there is no obligation to utilize our installation service.
At the conclusion of your project, Ciel will also provide you with a custom Pearl Certification Report documenting the steps you have taken towards making your home more energy-efficient. This certification can increase the overall value of your home for refinancing or sale.
