$1.9 Million Worth of Home Improvement Incentives Uncovered for Glen Rock Homeowners

Glen Rock's Energy Smart Rock Homes campaign encourages residential energy audits that help homeowners discover where and how their home is using energy inefficiently and what can be done to reduce their home's consumption.

More than 150 homeowners have participated in Glen Rock's Energy Smart Rock Homes program, which has helped Glen Rock residents uncover more than $1.9 million dollars worth of combined financial incentives available through the New Jersey Home Performance with Energy Star program for home improvement upgrades.

As part of Glen Rock's Energy Smart Rock Homes program, Glen Rock residents are offered the chance to have an energy assessment performed on their home for just $49 (well below the market rate of $300-$500).  For many people, getting an energy audit sounds difficult or is not even on the to-do list because they don’t know about it.

Most homeowners are also unaware of the financial incentives available through New Jersey's Home Performance with Energy Star program.  Totaling up to $19,000 through a combination of cash-back and financing incentives, they can help to ease the financial burden of installing the improvements recommended prescribed during the assessment.

The Glen Rock Environmental Commission, who's mission is to provide leadership and vision on actions and policies of sustainability, including the health, well - being and quality of life of its residents, was instrumental in organizing the campaign.

The program was established by the Borough of Glen Rock through the issuance of a public RFP as a way to increase awareness of practical resources available to Glen Rock residents that will help save energy and money.  Ciel was selected by the borough as the official provider to Glen Rock's Energy Smart Rock Homes program after after reviewing its credentials and pricing along with those of five other state-certified contractors.
